The Wellness Pyramid
The Wellness Pyramid showcases the various elements that go into a healthy lifestyle. Everything is built on a foundation of nutrition and digestion. Health begins with putting nutritious foods— the right kind of fuel—in our body. Next is movement and metabolism. Our body needs exercise and movement to thrive! Building on nutrition, digestion, movement, and metabolism, we all need to rest and better manage stress. Getting plenty of deep, restful sleep is vital to optimal wellness and vitality. Next is reducing exposure to toxins and supported detoxification. These four areas comprise the foundation of a healthy lifestyle. The final two levels of the Wellness Pyramid are informed self-care and proactive medical care. Informed self-care includes what we do to support ourselves when we aren’t feeling our best, while proactive medical care refers to the healthcare that happens with our physician.
